Hello, I’m Jason Iskandar, a Chinese Indonesian writer and director based in Jakarta. I founded Studio Antelope, a renowned production company, and have been making films since 2007. My work explores cultural identity, social norms, and personal reconciliation, reflecting the complexities of growing up as a Chinese Indonesian. My short films, including “Seserahan,” “Langit Masih Gemuruh,” and “Elegi Melodi,” have screened at film festivals worldwide. In 2021, I released my first feature film, “Akhirat: A Love Story,” which became the 15th highest-grossing film in Indonesia that year.
